On Sunday 5th June 2022 Vrinda gave a children's Srimad Bhagavatam class at the Manor. Here is a brief report from Devyani: "This morning Vrinda Kishori gave Bhagavatam class upstairs with the kids !! So many came the room was too small. it was the 1st time. i think we need a bigger room as more devotees would like to join." Vrinda Kishori commented: "Yes. The temple council have discussed it and I need to write up a document on how Srila Prabhupada's room will be the best place for the children. We need to think of how we can make the Bhagavatam Sanga more Prabhupada conscious and then present it to the council again 🤞🏼 Please bless us in this endeavour to develop a positive emotional attachment to Krsna both for myself and the children 🙏🏼" This is such an exciting initiative. The children are our future, and it is a great service to help them cultivate a taste for SB right from childhood. Please Vrinda share more with us about this. ys Cintamani

I had the good fortune of being able to attend Vrinda Kishori's children's SB class this last Sunday (5th June 2022) in the plush Bhakti Lounge at the Manor. The room was full with boys and girls from as young as 4 or 5 to 10-11. Sunday happened to be the anniversary of the Panihatti (chipped rice) festival recounted in CC Antya chapter 6. So Vrinda departed from the normal SB class she does and did a reading from that chapter. She covered from verse 13 or 14 to 76 and encouraged the children to finish reading the few verses left at home with their parents. I am so impressed how Vrinda uses the IMOSS principles in a child friendly way. She reads the verses and every once in awhile stops and asks the children a question like ('who is speaking to who?' or 'where have they gone?') This helps the children to listen attentively and repeat in their own words what they understood. She also encourages them to draw something they heard from the pastime. By doing this they are repeating in their own drawing what they heard. Then at the end of the session she has a 'share and shine' time during which she shares the children's art work and reflects back what she understood they were communicating. One girl heard so well that she had done a comic strip with practically every scene of the pastime and dialogue. She heard and repeated so well. Other things I loved about the session, other than how cleverly Vrinda adapted the principles to suit children, was how inclusive, validating and participative the whole session was. The children were encouraged to lead, play instruments, comment, question. Each of their efforts was enthusiastically and lovingly acknowledged and validated. No wonder they love going to her classes. Some complain if their mums make them late. I took two photos of the session which I hope Nilacala Prabhu will post up for me. One photo shows the children and mums listening (very attentively) since Vrinda's reading is very engaging. The second photo shows the 'share and shine' at the end of the class. This is such a brilliant initiative, and really helping the children get a taste for Hari katha right from the beginning of their young lives. Thank you Vrinda for your brilliant service initiative. If we can avoid addicting our children to Maya by giving them enjoyable engagement in Krishna consciousness from the beginning of their lives, their success is virtually guaranteed" "Lust is only the perverted reflection of the love of God which is natural for every living entity. But if one is educated in Kṛṣṇa consciousness from the very beginning, that natural love of God cannot deteriorate into lust. When love of God deteriorates into lust, it is very difficult to return to the normal condition."BG 3.41 purport
